Remembering Nile

This site was created in memory of our beloved son, brother, family member, and friend who we will miss dearly,

Nile French

Story

Born in Chicago

NOVEMBER 24TH, 1998

Nile Wasibi French, 22 years young, took his place among the stars on October 11, 2021.  He was the loving son of Keith and Carol French who raised him in the Audubon community of Pennsylvania near Philadelphia.

Nile was born at Northwestern University’s Prentice Women’s Hospital in November of 1998. After two years of Chicago life on the north side near Lake Michigan, the family moved to Audubon, PA and settled in the Audubon Ridge community.  He attended preschool at B’nai Jacob Synagogue and kindergarten at Chesterbrook before beginning elementary school at Audubon and Arcola.  Nile attended Methacton High School and graduated with his peers in May of 2017.

In September of 2017, Nile began his freshman term at Florida Tech (Florida Institute of Technology) in Melbourne, FL.  He accepted an assignment with the US Navy Reserves in April of 2018 and graduated from basic training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Academy on May 25, 2018.  Nile returned to Florida Tech for one semester before securing a job at Leonardo DRS Airborne & Intelligence Systems in Melbourne.

Nile participated in many global and community activities along with his friends in the neighborhood including:  People to People Ambassadors/UK, Boy Scouts of America, Audubon Recreation Association (ARA) baseball and basketball, and the tech crew of the Methacton High School Theater Company.

Nile is survived by his parents, Keith & Carol, two loving siblings Bradinn (Nicole) & Elissa (Tenoa), two grandmothers, Margaret & Winifred, three uncles, Mark, Kendall And Julius, a host of cousins from the US & Africa, and a new niece and nephew, Ysé And Israel, in California.

DONATIONS

Update:  Once again, the entire family of Nile French would like to thank you for comforting thoughts, kind words, and donations in memory of our beloved Nile.  After expenses associated with the memorial service, cremation costs, transporting family members internationally and other unforeseen costs, we donated the remaining funds to four organizations. We decided that these organizations were key in Nile’s early development or helpful to young men and women that may be at different levels of anxiety and struggling with other issues on the heels of the last two years.  We selected these organizations based on their potential to help those who can still get help and get home to their families, in honor of Nile.

Organizations selected:

Methacton Audubon Recreation Association
